The Collegiate Chorale, founded by the legendary Robert Shaw in 1941, builds upon its rich tradition by presenting engaging concerts that display the full spectrum of the vocal arts to diverse audiences in top venues in New York City and around the world. Each year, The Chorale performs a concert season with repertoire that spans the choral gamut, including traditional and beloved choral masterworks; operas (performed in concert); underserved American works from Broadway, the Americas, operetta, and the classical realm; and unique special events. During most summers, The Chorale can be found on the international stage: The Chorale made its fifth appearance at the prestigious Verbier (Switzerland) Festival in July, 2011 and in July, 2012, The Chorale will tour Israel and Salzburg with the Israel Philharmonic under conductors Zubin Mehta and Riccardo Muti. Come and audition to be a part of this vibrant choral organization!
All voice parts are being auditioned for the 2011-2012 season – tenors are particularly encouraged to audition. The audition will include vocalizing for range, tone quality and vocal ability and testing for sight-reading skill; you will not need to bring a prepared piece.
To schedule an audition or request more information, please send an e-mail with your name, contact information and voice part to: membership.chorale@yahoo.com.
