Sing With The Chorale

The Collegiate Chorale is always seeking to add experienced, talented singers to our ranks.  We have room for additional singers in all voice parts, with the greatest need in the tenor section.  Most of our concerts involve the full membership, while a few concerts or special events may call for a smaller subset of the full group.

There are three categories in which singers may participate in The Chorale:

  • Regular membership:  Anyone 17 years of age or older may audition to join The Chorale as a regular member.  Members pay annual dues and are eligible to sing in all of the concerts designated for “full Chorale,” vote in all elections, and be part of the planning and execution of concerts, to the extent the member wishes.  Please refer to the Auditions link at the side for information on how to apply for membership.
  • Side-by-Side membership:
This membership is open to high school students from participating Side-by-Side schools who are recommended for audition by their high school choral directors.  This category of membership also includes Side-by-Side graduates and alumni who continue to sing with The Chorale.  Side-by-Side members are eligible to sing in all of the concerts designated for full Chorale, but cannot vote in elections.  They are not required to pay dues, but must pass an audition after being recommended by their high school choral director.  For more information on our Side-by-Side program, please click here.
  • Professional singer:
The Chorale’s 150-175 voice chorus is comprised of avocational singers plus a small professional-singer component.  The professional singers typically join in the rehearsal cycle part-way through and then complete the concert cycle alongside the regular membership.  For more information on singing with The Chorale as a professional singer, please contact our Choral Contractor, Nancy Wertsch, at nwertsch@hotmail.com.
