Additional opportunities exist for strong singers to audition for special events including a tour to Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and Haifa to perform with the Israel Philharmonic in July of 2008. Works to include Bach's Cantata 140 and the Bloch Sacred Service under the baton of Zubin Mehta as well as a special evening at the Tel Aviv Museum to be conducted by the Chorale's Music Director Robert Bass.
The Collegiate Chorale, founded by Robert Shaw in 1941, builds upon its rich tradition by celebrating, invigorating and sharing the full spectrum of the vocal arts with diverse audiences. The Music Director of The Collegiate Chorale since 1980, Robert Bass conducts a wide repertoire including choral works, operas, and has initiated numerous commissions in his tenure. Mr. Bass made his Carnegie Hall conducting debut at the age of 26, and has since presented several operas-in-concert at Carnegie Hall, including in recent years Verdi's La forza del destino, Un ballo in maschera, Fidelio and Macbeth.
