The Collegiate Chorale, founded by Robert Shaw in 1941, builds upon its rich tradition by celebrating, invigorating and sharing the full spectrum of the vocal arts with diverse audiences. The Music Director of The Collegiate Chorale since 1980, Robert Bass conducts a wide repertoire including choral works, operas, and has initiated numerous commissions in his tenure. Mr. Bass made his Carnegie Hall conducting debut at the age of 26, and has since presented several operas-in-concert at Carnegie Hall, including in recent years Verdi's La forza del destino, Un ballo in maschera, Fidelio and Macbeth.
